An elegant side sword based on a piece in the Wallace Collection, London (A537). Prominent on the hilt are the two fluted counter guards as apposed to the more often seen fore ring. The blade has three fullers, one main fuller and two chasers running parallel along each side. The original is probably German from about 1600.
