Swords of this form were some of the first longswords. They were taking the form of single handed swords of the period with elongated grips. This example has a simple wheel pommel and slightly down turned guard with arms that taper in cross section. The grip is a simple form often seen on single handed swords only longer. It is covered in dark brown leather.
Swords of this type would have been side arms in the battles of the 15th C.
