Viking Training Sword #252

Viking Training Sword #252 black grip and peened steel hilt.

New Item #252 Viking Traning Sword

We are happy to introduce a new item, our Viking Training Sword. Developed with the nuances of Nordic sword and shield combat as a guide, we based the sword on surviving Viking Swords of the period and then tested it to produce a training sword that handles very much like a sharp Viking sword. The Type X blade is 6150 steel tempered to a 50+ Rc and finished with a rebated edge. The weight and balance replicate pieces of the early medieval context, as does the 3.5" grip, allowing the dynamic hand positions required in this form of combat. Light in weight at just under two pounds with a wood core grip covered in leather this sword moves very well in the hand and interacts well against your opponents shield and sword.
