Rapier Blade Options and Details

Arms & Armor provides a variety of blades in house to meet the needs of our customers. The sharp replica blades are made with historical dimensions flex and edges. These replicate the blade of the period and can be adjusted to match different examples from period pieces. Our training rapier blades are patterned after original training blades in most cases but with more flex than often seen in period as the modern practitioner is often committed to safety first and foremost in their equipment. A closer approximation to period styles can be done but will result in harder more intense thrusts than some modern rules sets.

Our side sword blade has a durability that will allow play in multiple weapon scenarios and with the use of the cut oriented systems seen in the saber/basket hilt styles of combat.

Here are examples of the blades.

Sharp

Our Regular sharp rapier blade.

Nail Blade Narrow #6004

A blade that begins as a diamond cross sectioned blade with a training edge. Then begins to transition into a rectangular cross section which allows for more flex when thrusting. Based on period training blades of the period. The point is peened over into a nail head for safety.

Narrow Nail Blade.

Nail Blade Narrow - no nail #6004T

Blade same as nail blade above without the peened nail tip. Should be used with a rubber blunt for satey.

Rebatted Blade Narrow #6006

Looks like a sharp blade in all respect but the edges are rounded with no sharpness and the point is round and blunt. Can be used for training and interpretative or choreographed use but not in free play without a blunt tip added.

Rebatted Narrow Blade.

Nail Blade Wide #6005

A blade that begins as a diamond cross sectioned blade with a training edge. Then begins to transition into a rectangular cross section which allows for more flex when thrusting. Based on period training blades of the period. The point is peened over into a nail head for safety.

Nail Blade Wide - no nail #6005T

Blade same as nail blade above without the peened nail tip. Should be used with a rubber blunt for satey.

Rebatted Wide Blade #6007
