Today we take a look at a couple of different finish possibilities on our swords including blued or bright finish on the steel hilt parts and the color of the leather on the grips of a couple of Scottish Two-Handed Claymore swords. This finish options apply to all of our swords with steel hilt furniture and leather-covered grips. Other types of swords with Bronze hilts or with wire-wrapped handles obviously have other options.

While most of our swords are offered with a bright, matte steel finish on the hilt parts and a black or brown leather grip as the standard combination, we also offer all of our swords with a variety of customization options you can select when you order a sword. We also do a great deal of custom work which would include more substantial changes to existing products such as changing the blade or grip length, altering the pommel or guard, adding fullers to the blade, or even creating a completely custom piece. If you an interested in a custom commission you can contact us through the below link and we will work with you to create a product in your budget that functions well and looks like you want it to.
As always, our swords are entirely made by us, by hand, at our shop in Minneapolis, MN. The blades are hand ground of 6150 carbon steel, hardened and tempered to 50-52 Rockwell. All of our products are made to look, feel, and function just like the historical originals on which they are based. Arms & Armor is dedicated to quality and authenticity. For over four decades we have worked with museums, collectors, and scholars around the world to develop a deep understanding of European weapons; knowledge we use to make products that exemplify the finest qualities of the very best historic pieces. When we select historic items to reproduce, being pretty isn't enough, they have to move with grace and beauty, and beg to be used when in the hand. These are pieces that feel as good as they look, and that work as well as they feel. Our mission is to craft items that recreate the look, feel, and function of the best historic originals.
