Here we have a large sword with a classic wheel pommel and slightly down turned guard with a hand and a half length grip. This is a form of sword one saw develop as armor improved and became more prevalent in the middle ages. Its outline is that of a single handed sword of the day but the whole sword is larger than a single hander. Whether used on foot or mounted this sword would be one designed for combat in war.
This sword moves very well in the hand for its size, it is just under three pounds in weight which means one could use it single handed. This would be an advantage when mounted allowing the warrior to have a hand on the reins.
