The Lombardy region of Italy gave birth to some of the great masters of the rapier and this classic piece will do justice to their legacy.

This is a classic Northern Italian Rapier from the last quarter of the 16th century. This elegant hilt is crafted in steel with three parallel sweeping bars, bisected with discs at the mid-line of the fore guard. With these sweeps and a straight guard swelling at the finals, the form of this hilt is a Norman Type 74 with a three branch inner guard. The fluted pommel of a truncated-cone shape has a turned base and button. The grip is bound in wire and finished with turksheads top and bottom. All are mounted on a narrow thrusting blade with a fuller down the forte.

Our rapier hilts are hand crafted to order. With the demand for our pieces delivery times usually run in the 8 to 12 month range.
